Editorial Policies
Overview
interactives maintains standards for open preprint posting, authorship, attribution, licensing, and correction. Authors are responsible for the accuracy and integrity of the work they submit.
Authorship
Authors should meet these criteria:
- Made a substantive contribution to the work, including any interactive components.
- Reviewed and approved the submitted version.
- Accepted responsibility for the accuracy of the paper and related materials.
- Agreed to the author order and corresponding-author role before submission.
Changes to authorship after posting should be requested by the corresponding author and approved by all affected authors.
Originality And Attribution
All submitted text, figures, code, datasets, media, and interactive components must be original or clearly attributed. Plagiarism, undisclosed reuse, and misleading presentation of reused material are not permitted.
Authors should cite libraries, datasets, software, media assets, and prior publications that materially shape the work.
Research Integrity
Authors should provide enough information for readers to understand the work and, where possible, reproduce or inspect the interactive system. This may include links to code, data, live demos, build instructions, or archived materials.
If some materials cannot be shared, the paper should explain why.
Human Subjects And Sensitive Data
Work involving participants, user studies, private data, or sensitive deployments must state the relevant ethical approval, consent process, or safeguards. Authors must protect participant privacy and avoid exposing private or identifying information without permission.
Interactive Content
Interactive components should:
- Represent the work accurately.
- Avoid hidden behavior that contradicts the paper.
- Provide fallback or documentation when a live component may not run for every reader.
- Credit reused code, media, and dependencies.
- Avoid collecting reader data without clear notice and consent.
Conflicts Of Interest
Authors should disclose financial, institutional, personal, or professional relationships that could influence the work or its presentation.
Copyright And Licensing
Authors retain copyright. Public papers are made available under Creative Commons BY-NC 4.0 unless otherwise stated. Third-party material must be used under compatible terms or with permission.
Open Access
Preprints on interactives are openly accessible without subscription barriers. Authors may also share their preprints on personal, institutional, or repository pages.
Corrections, Updates, And Withdrawals
Authors should correct errors when they become aware of them. Updates may be made to improve links, media, text, metadata, or supporting materials. Major corrections should be documented clearly in the paper.
Withdrawal requests and misconduct reports can be sent to team@interactives.pub. When appropriate, the public record may be marked or updated rather than removed, so readers can understand the history of the work.
